Follow-Up to Shooting on Ballenger Creek Pike in Frederick: Suspect Identified

He is 27 year old Demar Cortze Allen.

FREDERICK, MD.  (LG)    The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the suspect believed to be involved in the shooting that occurred at Jackson’s Chapel, during a funeral, on Saturday, April 20th, 2019.   Authorities say 27 year old Demar Cortze Allen, of Germantown, is wanted by police.

The investigation revealed that on the afternoon of April 20th, deputies and fire and rescue units were dispatched to Jackson Chapel in the 5600 block of Ballenger Creek PIke where a funeral was taking place. Authorities found two people suffering from gunshot wounds in the Chapel’s parking lot. Both were taken to area hospitals with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the area before emergency personnel arrived.

Detectives say the shooting is believed to have taken place following an altercation between the individuals at the funeral. The Sheriff’s Office says it does not believe this is a random shooting.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Demar Cortz Allen, is asked to contact the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.
