The Patty Pollatos Fund is a community organization dedicated to raising money for families or individuals in need in Frederick County.
PPF Inc. was founded by Debbie Williams and was named in honor of her best friend Patty Pollatos who passed from cancer in 1992. Williams organized a fundraiser to help Patty’s family who was financially insecure due to medical costs.
“It took 30-60 days and we raised $20,000,” Williams said. “and Patty died with dignity in her home.”
Williams said she felt called to continue to help other families in need, and proceeded to found the organization that has since raised millions of dollars and helped thousands of families.
Although PPF Inc. is closing, the organization will continue to benefit the community and other charities.
The non-profit is also hosting their 14th Annual Family Fundraiser Fun-omenon at the Frederick Fairgrounds on August 24th with all proceeds going towards helping people with medical bills, mortgages, groceries and other expenses.
