Local Schools Put On Lockdown After Shooting in Frederick

Frederick, Md. (DG) – For the second time in four days, Frederick City Police are investigating a shooting.

Tuesday at 11:10 a.m. police were dispatched to the 300 block of Heather Ridge Drive for reports of a shooting.

As officers were responding, Frederick Memorial Hospital reported a man with several gunshot wounds had just arrived at the hospital.

Heather Ridge, Monocacy Middle, and Monocacy Elementary Schools were placed on a brief lockdown.

Michelle Bowman, Public Information and Outreach Coordinator for Frederick City Police, said they do not have any suspects identified.

“We are still collecting cameras from the area,” Bowman said. “If anybody has any Rings systems, or any of the other video doorbell systems, please review your footage, if there is anything that maybe useful please let us know.”

The victim was later taken to a trauma center and is listed in stable but serious condition.
