County Council Introduces Bills: Scuba Facility and Sustainablilty Monocacy Commission

The hearings are scheduled for later meetings

Frederick, MD – In a Frederick County Council meeting Tuesday evening, two initiatives were introduced for later discussion.

The first was introduced by Council Vice President Michael Blue and regarded scuba facilities being permitted in a mineral mining district.

The second was introduced by Council President M.C. Keegan-Ayer on behalf of the County Executive and presented legislation to establish a Frederick County Sustainablilty Monocacy Commission.

The SMC would recommend policies designed to improve the environmental health of the Monocacy river and protect its scenic qualities.

The proposals will be discussed at later meetings and be open to public comment
