Frederick, Md (KM) Bond was denied on Monday for a Frederick man charged with robbing Dutch’s Daughter on Friday evening.
James Edward Maxwell, 36, was taken into custody almost two hours after the incident. He’s charged with armed robbery, 1st-degree assault and 2nd-degree assault.
Authorities say Maxwell is alleged to have entered the restaurant at around 7:15 PM on Friday, and threatened the employees with a knife. One of the employees sprayed him with bear repellent. No one was hurt, but fire and rescue units were dispatched to the scene.
Maxwell is also charged with another armed robbery along Grove Hill Road shortly before the robbery at the Dutch’s Daughter.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6th in Frederick County District Court.
