Three More Deaths From COVID-19 Reported In Frederick County

That’s brings the number to seven.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Three additional deaths have been reported in Frederick County as a result of the coronavirus.

The Joint Information Center says two of the deaths were a man in his 80’s and a woman in her 70’s who were residents of the Frederick Health and Rehabilitation Center. Both had underlying conditions. The third person to die from COVID-19 was a woman in her 80’s who had been in the hospital. That brings the total number in Frederick County to seven.

The Joint Information Center also reports 292 positive cases of coronavirus in Frederick County.

Also, six residents and four employees have tested positive for COVID-19 at Country Meadows Retirement Communities; test results are pending on five employees. At Ballenger Creek Center Nursing home, 13 residents and four employees have tested positive for the coronavirus; and test results are pending on three residents and one employee.

The Health Department says its staff has been assigned to long term care and assisted living centers to provide guidance and support.

Meanwhile, County Executive Jan Gardner has joined  six other county executives in Maryland and the Mayor of Baltimore in sending a letter to the State’s Congressional Delegation outlining the immediate needs and concerns with aspects of the CARES Act and issues they feel need to be considered in  the next piece of legislation.

The CARES Act is the $2.2-trillion package passed last month by Congress and signed into law by the President  which provide relief for citizens and businesses suffering due to the coronavirus pandemic
