New Rt. 28 Bridge Over Monocacy River To Be Closed This Weekend

SHA says it’s to remove barriers.

Dickerson, Md (KM) The new Route 28 bridge over the Monocacy River in Frederick County   will remain closed until Monday, April 27th at 5:00 AM.

The State Highway Administration says the closure will allow crews to remove the barriers placed on the span while it was under construction.

Traffic will be detoured to Md. 109 (Old Hundred Road), Md. 355 (Urbana Pike), Md. 80 (Fingerboard Road) and Md. 85 (Buckeystown Pike).

After this weekend’s closure, SHA says there will be single lane closures from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, so work can be completed on the bridge.

This bridge replacement project is expected to be finished this summer.
