SHA Opens New Rt. 464 Bridge In Point Of Rocks

It replaces an old span over Little Catoctin Creek.

Point of Rocks, Md (KM) The State Highway Administration says a new Route 464 bridge over Little Catoctin Creek in Frederick County is now open. It was formally opened on Thursday.

The new span has two, 11-foot wide lanes, and 5-foot shoulders to accommodate bicyclists.

SHA says single lane closures will take place in June so the contractor can complete the remaining work, which includes the construction of a storm water management facility.

The work on the $4.6-million project is expected to be completed this simmer.

The contractor, Concrete General, will remove the closure and detour signs, and the temporary traffic signal at Route 180 (Jefferson Pike) and Olive School Road will beĀ  removed next week, according to SHA.
