They will need to  practice safety measures against COVID-19.

Frederick, Md (KM)  As of Friday, May 29th at 5:00 PM, barbershops, hair salons and churches can reopen in Frederick County. That announcement was made by County Executive Jan Gardner during her Thursday briefing. She said progress has been made locally in the fight against COVID-19, especially in the areas of testing, contact tracing, supplying personal protective equipment and getting the coronavirus under control in nursing homes.

Gardner said when these businesses and houses of worship reopen, they must practice safety measures in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Regarding the Governor’s decision to allow restaurant to open with outdoor dining, Gardner said the county has developed a temporary permit which lets these establishments  to expand their outdoor dining opportunities. She says it will remain in place until the state of emergency has ended.

The County Executive said the Governor’s decision letting youth sports activities to  resume, and youth day camps and outdoor swimming pools to reopen are covered by state regulations and the county will not add anything to that.
