Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Helps Boston Police Nab Man Soliciting For Sex

A deputy posed on line as a 13-year-old girl.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit  worked with the Boston Police Department to apprehended a man for soliciting sex from a 13-year-old girl on line. Authorities in Boston on Thursday arrested Daniel Louis  O-Brien, 42. . . He’s charged with enticement of a child under 16.

The Sheriff’s Office says on April 28th, 2020, O’Brien made contact with one of its deputies who was working undercover, posing on line  as a 13-year-old girl. According to a news release, O’Brien solicited several sexual acts with this “girl,” and planned to come to Maryland to pick her up, and help her run away from home.

The deputy working undercover made contact with authorities  in Boston and worked closely with them to take O’Brien into custody.

O’Brien is a Tier Three sex offender for attempted kidnapping and enticing a child under 14. He was arrested in 2009 after traveling from Richmond, Virginia to Littleton, Massachusetts to kidnap a 12-year=old girl whom he had been communicating with on line.

O’Brien is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
