Rally set for Friday expected to be attended by large crowds

Frederick, Md. – The City of Frederick, the Frederick Police Department, and local public safety partners are actively collaborating to ensure the welfare of all residents during upcoming community demonstrations and will be supporting the first amendment liberties of demonstrators. As The City of Frederick continues to reopen from the impacts of COVID-19 and with the planned demonstrations, the return to large crowds to our downtown area is expected. Due to the expected crowd size, multiple agencies within Frederick will be adjusting their services and operations accordingly:

Expected Road Closures: Throughout Friday afternoon and evening, temporary road closures are expected on All Saints Street, Market Street, and 2nd Street. Other street closures may be necessary and will be communicated as applicable.

Public Facilities: Restrooms and handwashing stations are available throughout the City. Restrooms in the Church Street and Carroll Creek parking garages are open 9 AM to 10 PM. Temporary bathrooms and handwashing stations will also be available at Mullinix Park and Baker Park.

Parking: All parking garages in The City of Frederick are open. Street parking is unavailable in certain downtown areas due to the COVID-19 Recovery Curb-Side Pickup Zones. Parking will not be permitted on Market Street between All Saints Street and 3rd Street effective at 12PM tomorrow.
