Two Men Charged With Robbing Thurmont Verizon Store Indicted by Frederick County Grand Jury

The robbery occurred in March.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Grand Jury on Friday indicted two of four individuals who are charged with robbing a Verizon store in Thurmont. Noah Pabloa Zayas, 24, of the Bronx, NY, is charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, 2nd-degree burglary, 2nd-degree assault, theft between $25,000  and $100,000, and being an accessory after the fact. The second man, Luis J. Filpo, 21, if New York, NY, is charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, 2nd-degree burglary, 2nd-degree assault, theft between $25,000 and $100,000, and using a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says it all began on the evening of March 18th, 2020, when a woman entered the store and asked for help for her phone. He says the clerk had a bad feeling and the woman left the store. “These two males come back in with masks on. One had a weapon raised; turned out to be a BB gun. Nevertheless it is a weapon. They let a third person in. They wound up  taking over $30,000 worth of electronic devices from that store. They put them in suitcases. They left in a vehicle,” he says.

The car sped off northbound along Route 15 into Pennsylvania, where the suspects were apprehended.

An indictment moves this case to Circuit Court where a trial date will be scheduled.

One of the other defendants in this case, Angel Nestor Collazo, 20, of the Bronx, NY, has a initial appearance scheduled for August 20th. Court records say the four suspect, Andri Delacruzcuz, has died.
