COVID-19 Cases Go Up In Washington County

Deaths remain the same.                                                                                                                  

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) Washington County is experiencing increases in COVID-19 cases. As of Friday afternoon, the Joint Information Center is reporting 2,307 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, which is 24 more than on Thursday. The number of deaths is 46 which is two more than the day before.

The positivity rate in Washington County is 3.71%. That’ s percentage of patients who test positive for COVID-19 compared to all of those tested over a specific time period.

In Frederick County on Friday, according to the Maryland Department of Health, there were 4,826 coronavirus cases as of Friday,   and 131 deaths.

Montgomery County is reporting 25,831 COVID-19 cases, with 832 deaths.

In Carroll County, the Maryland Health Department reports 2,278 coronavirus cases, with 120 deaths.

Howard County, as of Friday, is reporting 5,930  cases with 121 deaths.

Statewide, there are 144,314 cases of COVID-19 as of Friday; that’s 927 more than on Thursday, according to the Maryland Department of Health. The number of deaths is 3,990, an increase of ten from the previous day.

The agency says on Friday there are 1,782,204 patients who tested negative as of Friday, which is 8,743 more than on Thursday. There are 512 patients hospitalized for the COVID-19 virus, which is 11 more than on Thursday. The percentage of those testing positive is 3.71%. The testing volume is 3,389,678, which is 28,397 more than the previous day.
