Paving Taking Place On Rt. 27 In Mt. Airy Area

It will take place during the overnight hours through this week.

Mount Airy, Md (KM) A paving project will take place this week along Route 27 (Ridge  Road) between Gillis Falls Road and Harrisville Road on the Carroll County side of Mount Airy. The Maryland State Highway Administration says the work will be done from 8:00 PM to 600 AM each day through Friday of this week.

There will be road closures and a flagging operation during the overnight hours.

SHA says the paving is part of a $3.3-million project to realign the intersection and enhance safety. It will include new left-turn and deceleration lanes on Route 27 along with wider shoulders.

The project began in the spring of 2019, and SHA says it expects it to be completed by the fall of this year, weather permitting.
