COVID-19 Cases Increase In Frederick, Washington Counties

Positivity rates also go up.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Another big jump has been recorded in the number of coronavirus cases in Frederick County. The Health Department says as of Tuesday afternoon, there are 7,952 COVID-19 cases, which is an increase of 100 from Monday. The number of deaths from the coronavirus is 146.

The county’s seven-day positivity rate is 8.4%. That’s the percentage of patients who tested positive for COVID-19 out of all of those tested over a seven-day period.

In Washington County, the Joint Information Center reports 5,372 coronavirus cases, and that’s 53 more than the last update on December 7th. Deaths increased by four to 86.

The positivity rate is 10.6%,

Across the state, the Maryland Department of Health reports 219,961 COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday, which is 2,632 more than on Monday. The number of deaths from the coronavirus is 4,755, and that’s an increase of 50 from the day before.

The state’s positivity rate is 7.61%.
