COVID-19 Cases Keep Going Up In Frederick County

Frederick, Md (KM) COVID-19 cases keep going up in Frederick County. The Health Department says as of Thursday, there have been 11, 301 local coroanvirus cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 201. The number of deaths from COVID-19 is 186. That’s a jump of five from the day before.

The seven-day positivity rate is 10.8%. . That’s the percentage of patients testing positive for the coronavirus out of all of those tested over a seven-day period.

Across the region, the Joint Information Center is reporting Washington County with 8,206 COVID-19 cases and 147 deaths. In Carroll County, there are 5,168 coronavirus cases, and 161 deaths  Howard County is reporting 11,722 cases of COVID-19 and 174 deaths.  . Montgomery County continues to have the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the region at 46,200, and 1,081 deaths.

Statewide, the Maryland Department of Health reports a total of 276,662 coronavirus cases as of Thursday, which is 2,973 more than on Wednesday. The number of deaths from COVID-19 is 5,727, which is 46 more than the day before.

Maryland’s positivity rate is 8.52%.

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 in the state total 1,773 as of Thursday, and that’s 17 more than on Wednesday.
