Gaithersburg, Md (KM) Montgomery County Police continue to investigate a stabbing in Gaithersburg on Wednesday evening.
Authorities say at around 9:00 PM, a woman who just got off a bus at Washington Grove Lane and Amity Drive was grabbed from behind. The victim told officers the man attempted to steal her purse and sexually assault her. During the assault, the victim was stabbed.
The suspect fled when he saw an approaching vehicle. He’s described as a Black male 5’10” wearing all dark clothing.
The victim was treated at the scene by fire and rescue personnel and transported to a local hospital.
Anyone who was in that area Wednesday night at around 9:00 and saw the suspect or any suspicious activity is asked to contact Montgomery County Police. They can call the 6th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5770. They can also call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-411-TIPS {8477}. Crime Solvers will pay up to $10,000 for an information that leads to an arrest in this case.
