Police Investigating Threat Against Frederick County Middle School

Frederick Police say a credible threat was made against Monocacy Middle School.

Frederick, Md. (DG) – Frederick Police and Frederick County Public Schools are investigating a credible threat that was made on social media to shoot students at Monocacy Middle School.

The threat indicated a plan to shoot students at the school. School resource officers were made aware of the threat and began to investigate. The families of the students targeted were notified.

Frederick Police are reporting the person or persons making the threat did not have the means to carry it out and charges are pending. They have identified a primary suspect who is a student at Monocacy Middle School.

Frederick Police and Frederick County Public Schools want to reassure the community that they believe there is no longer an active threat against the school. There will be an increased police presence at the school over the next few days.
