Frederick Police Arrest One Suspect In July Homicide

Authorities are seeking a second suspect.

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police have made an arrest in a homicide in July, and authorities are seeking a second suspect. Benjamin Michael Johnson, 36, of Hyattsville, Md., was taken into custody in December 22, 2022, and , charged him with being accessory after the fact in a 1st – and 2nd-degree murder and possession of a firearm on a person, and two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon..

On July 23rd, 2022, officer responded to the 300 block of North  Market Street for a disturbance. They found Michael Isaiah Oleniyi lying in the road after being shot. Police administered fires aid.  He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Detectives say Johnson was seen on a video as  the driver of a black Maserati with Virginia plates which was observed at the scene. Johnson was seen taking a second suspect to the scene, and taking that person away from the scene. Investigators believe the car was driven to the are of O Street NW  in Washington DC.
