Pennsylvania State Police Investigating Double Fatal

It occurred Monday afternoon in the Chambersburg, area.

Chambersburg, Pa. (KM) Two people were killed in a vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in the Chambersburg, Pennsylvania area.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, a Ford Transit traveling east along Lincoln Way (also known as State Route 30) crossed the center line, and struck a Hyundai Accent which was traveling west . The operator of the Ford identified as Richard Cowan, 69, of Chambersburg, died in the crash. The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Maura Boyce of Mercersbrug, 42, also perished in the crash.

Mark Schwartz, 63, of Williamsport, Maryland, was a passenger in the Ford Transit. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Fulton County, Pennsylvania Medical Center.

State Troopers say as the Ford Transit was traveling west along Lincoln Way, it crossed into the center line and struck the Hyundai Accent. The Transit came to a final rest facing northbound in both lanes. The Accent came to a final rest facing north in a field off  of Westbound Lincoln Way

The two vehicles sustained “disabling damage” and were removed from the roadway by a tow company, State Police say.
