Crime increase is the first time in nine years
Frederick, MD (MO) Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins announced that crime in Frederick County, Maryland had increased for the first time in nine years.
During an appearance on WFMD’s Morning News Express Jenkins said that there was an increase of 32-percent in part one crime in Frederick County. Part one crimes include murder, aggravated assault, rape, robbery, motor vehicle theft, burglary, larceny/theft, and arson. Jenkins also added he was quite sure that the demand for drugs was fueling the county wide crime increase.
Jenkins said his agency and Frederick Police are continuing to do their jobs despite the increase in crime.
Five new Deputies were sworn in after graduating from the Howard County Police Academy.
