Committee Reviewing 35 Books In FCPS Libraries Will Take A Little Longer To Finish Its Work

They’ve reviewed all but four books.

Ferderick, Md (KM) The committee set up to review 35 books in Frederick County public school libraries will take a little longer to complete its work. The School System says the panel of 59 parents, teachers, students and experts has reached consensus on all but four of the books.

It also says an announcement on the books is expected early in the next school year.

The review committee was formed in December of last year after former Board of Education candidate Cindy Rose submitted a complaint about the books, which some have described as “pornographic.”

These books have faced similar challenges in other school districts across the US.
