Work On Md. 140/27 Ramps To Begin Friday Night

MDOT SHA says the work will be done on the weekends.

Westminster, Md (KM) Repair work is expected to begin Friday night on the concrete ramps at Maryland Routes 27 (Railroad Avenue/Manchester Road) and 140 (Baltimore Boulevard) interchange in Westminster.

Starting at 9:00 PM, crews will close the northbound Md. 27 ramp to eastbound Md. 140 to make repairs to one of the four concrete road surfaces. That will include fixing depressions and cracks to improve safety. The ramp closure will be in effect until 5:00 AM on Monday.

Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway  Administration says one ramp at this interchange will be repaired each weekend until November 20th.

During the work, MDOT SHA says motorists on northbound Md. 27 will be detoured to Hahn Road which becomes Englar Road to access northbound Md. 140. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra commuting time during road  work.

The contractor, MIM Construction, Inc., of Mount Airy, will use electronic message boards, signs and barrels to guide motorists through the work zone and detour route.

MDOT SHA says work is expected to be completed in December, weather permitting.
