Two West Virginia State Troopers Shot While Serving Search Warrant In Martinsburg

Martinsburg, WV. (BW)- Two West Virginia State Troopers were shot while attempting to serve a search warrant in Martinsburg on Sunday, Dec 17.

According to the Martinsburg Journal, Troopers A.A. Bean and C.D. Spessert were trying to serve a warrant at the residence of 60-year-old Tobias Ganey.

After a period of conversation with Ganey, the Troopers entered the home. Ganey fired several shots at Troopers, striking Spessert once and Bean multiple times. The Troopers returned fire, killing Ganey.

Both Troopers were transported for treatment of their injuries. Spessert is in stable condition. Bean is in critical but stable condition.

West Virginia State Police continue to investigate the incident.
