Maryland’s Minimum Wage Increases To $15 An Hour In 2024

It was previously $13.25 an hour.

Maryland. (BW)- The new minimum wage for the state of Maryland will increase to $15 an hour starting Jan 1, 2024.

Governor Wes Moore signed the law in April 2023.

Minimum wage in Maryland in 2023 was $13.25 an hour.

In 2019, the Maryland General Assembly passed a bill increasing minimum wage across the state, but former Governor Larry Hogan vetoed the bill.

Some counties in Maryland, such as Montgomery County, already have laws requiring a minimum wage of $15 an hour for companies with between 11 and 50 employees, and a minimum wage of $16.70 an hour for companies with more than 50 employees.
