Frederick Woman Injured While Crossing The Road In A Wheelchair Has Died

Frederick Police continue their investigation into this incident.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick woman who was seriously injured earlier this month while crossing a roadway in a motorized wheelchair has died.  Frederick Police say they received word last weekend that Peggy Nezelrod succumbed to her injuries.

On Tuesday morning, February 6th, officers  responded to Key Parkway and Willowdale Drive for a single-vehicle crash.  Authorities say a Honda Civic traveling on Key Parkway struck Nazelrod who was in a motorized wheelchair trying to cross the road.   She was taken to Meritus Medical Center with serious injuries.

She passed away on Saturday, February 17th, 2024.

Frederick Police says the Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating this accident.  Anyone who may have witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken to officers is asked to contact Frederick Police. They can call  OFC. Jacob Haynie at 240-575-8381.
