Budget Survey Underway In Frederick County

Residents can help the County Executive craft a fiscal year 2025 budget.

Frederick, Md (KM) It’s a unique way Frederick County residents can offer their input on crafting a budget for fiscal year 2025. The county has opened Balancing Act where residents can see actual requests for funding on line, and decide which ones they would like to include in the budget; or which ones they don’t want.

“During our listening sessions, we heard from people in every district about their funding priorities,” says County Execute Jessica Fitzwater, in a statement. “This survey is another important tool for us to gather feedback from residents. Balancing Act is an interactive way for people to share what they would like to see in Frederick County’s budget.”

Responses will help the County Executive craft her spending plan for the next fiscal year  This survey will remain open until March 25th at 4:00 PM. .  Fiscal year 2025 begins on July 1st, 2024.

As part of the process, County Executive Jessica Fitzwater will hold a public hearing on the budget on Wednesday, March 20th at 7:00 PM at Winchester Hall. Citizens can attend the meeting in person, follow it on the county’s cable channel, or stream it live.  Closed captioning is also available in English and Spanish.
