Community Foundation Of Frederick County Awards Nearly $2-Million In Scholarships for 2024-2025 Academic Year

More than 350 students received the scholarships.

Frederick, Md (KM) $1.9 million in scholarships have been awarded to more than 350 students for the 2024 and 2025 academic year by the Community Foundation of Frederick County

The organization says the money came from donors who set up endowed funds with the Foundation to help students with the educational plans. . The 190 different charitable funds were set up by organizations such as by The Quantum Frederick Scholarship Fund; The John J. Slezak Instrumental Scholarship Fund; The Kenneth (Bob) Mildred (Millie) and Diane Mildred Taylor Fund; The William “Woody” E. and Nancy Motter Theater Fund; The Nancy H. Whitney Scholarship Fund; the Ruth Kobe Scholarship Fund; and the The David and Norma  Miller Scholarship Fund.

The students come from all ten Frederick County Public High Schools, local private schools and home school programs.

The courses of study being pursued by these students include agriculture, the arts, business, education, engineering, nursing, science and other subjects. These scholarships were awarded to graduating high school seniors, students already enrolled in college, graduate students and non-traditional students.
