Columbia, Md. (DG) – Maryland State Police arrested a Howard County woman after a dangerous pursuit that spanned two states and left a Virginia State Trooper injured.
Police say shortly before midnight December 29th, a vehicle pursuit initiated by Virginia State Police crossed into Maryland on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Investigators say the driver, 24-year-old Naturi Hayes of Elkridge, rammed a marked Virginia State Police cruiser, causing it to strike a concrete barrier. The trooper was taken to a hospital and later released.
Troopers continued the chase through Prince George’s and into Howard County, where the vehicle crashed near Washington Boulevard and Meadowridge Road. Hayes fled on foot but was arrested without incident.
She faces multiple charges, including first-degree assault and attempting to elude police. The investigation remains ongoing.
