Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in Frederick County Claims One Life

Maryland State Police continue investigation after head-on collision on Route 194.

Walkersville, MD (JK) – Maryland State Police are investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred Monday evening in Frederick County.

The crash involved a Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by 60-year-old Daniel Price of Biglerville, Pennsylvania, and a Toyota pickup truck driven by a 58-year-old man. Price was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver was airlifted by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to a shock trauma center with serious injuries.

The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. on northbound Route 194, south of Crum Road. Preliminary reports indicate that Price’s Chevrolet crossed the center line for unknown reasons, striking the Toyota pickup head-on.

Traffic lanes were closed for approximately two hours while troopers from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack conducted the initial investigation. The Maryland State Police Crash Team continues to lead the active and ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision.
