Hagerstown Police Use Drone To Help Apprehended Two Suspects In ATV Theft

The drone followed the two individuals as they were operating the ATV in Hagerstown.

Hagerstown, Md (KM) Hagerstown Police say they were able to use a drone to help their officers apprehended two suspects in the theft of an all terrain vehicle.. The vehicle was stolen out of a garage in the south end of the city on Tuesday morning.

A bicycle officer saw the ATV being operated along the streets of downtown Hagerstown on Tuesday afternoon, The drone was put into the air, and followed the stolen ATV. The Real time Information Center staff with Hagerstown Police lived-streamed the video from the drone, and informed officers of the location of the vehicle. The two individuals abandoned the ATV, and fled on foot. But officers were able to apprehend them in the first block of North Mulberry Street. .

In addition to recovering the stolen ATV, police say they also recovered a stolen handgun.

The two suspects are 16-year-old boys who are expected to be charged as adults.
